Data Policy (Personas)

Personas in this repository are fictional, anonymous archetypes used for learning and design exercises. They are not real individuals and must never be written in a way that identifies, targets, or enables contact with a specific person. The purpose of each persona is to describe goals, behaviors, contexts, and pain points at a segment level, using generalized attributes that support product thinking (e.g., motivations, constraints, preferred channels, typical routines). Any entry that appears to describe a real person or contains identifying information will be rejected or removed to protect privacy and keep the repository aligned with course expectations.

Prohibited fields and content (must not be collected, stored, or displayed): real names, usernames/handles that identify a person, email addresses, phone numbers, home or work addresses, precise location data (street address, coordinates), personal social media links, employer + title combinations that uniquely identify an individual, government IDs, financial account details, photos of real people, and any free-text notes that include contact instructions (e.g., "reach them at...", "DM on...", "lives at..."). Avoid "uniquely identifying" specifics even if they are not classic contact details (for example: a rare medical condition paired with a small town, or a distinctive life event paired with a workplace). If a persona needs geographic context, use broad regions (e.g., "Boston area," "Midwest US") rather than precise addresses. If a persona needs demographics, keep them high-level and non-identifying, and focus on behaviors and needs rather than personal traceability.
